Bulgaria to Host Concours Mondial de Bruxelles 2016
Sofia, May 3 (BTA) - Prime Minister Boyko Borissov wrote on
Facebook on Sunday that Bulgaria will host the Concours Mondial
de Bruxelles wine competition in 2016. He learned this from
Tourism Minister Nikolina Angelkova, who was a guest of honour
at this year's competition in Jesolo, Italy.
On Sunday, Angelkova presented Bulgaria's potential to develop
wine tourism.
In 2016, Plovdiv (South Central Bulgaria) will host the wine
contest. It was chosen in competition with major wine makers
including France, Spain, Australia, Chile and Argentina.
This is one of the world's most prestigious wine contests with
nearly 300 renowned judges tasting thousands of wines from 58
countries. Bulgaria will be the focus of the world media all
through 2016, Borissov wrote.
The National Vine and Wine Chamber is co-organizer. The April 29
- May 1 event will be supported by the Agriculture and Food
Ministry, the Tourism Ministry and Plovdiv Municipality.
