Foreign Investments in Bulgaria Are EUR 128.2 Mln in Jan-Feb, EUR 1.290 Bln in 2014 - Deputy Minister

Sofia, May 5 (BTA) - In the first two months of the current year
foreign investments in Bulgaria stood at 128.2 million euro,
Deputy Economy Minister Daniela Vezieva said at the award of an
Investor Class A certificate to Voestalpine VAE Sofia OOD
Tuesday. These figures are comparable to 2014 when the annual
amount of investments totaled 1,290,000 million euro - a fact
which in her opinion is indicative of the good work of the
government.

Voestalpine's investment project, "Competitive Development",
provides for expansion of the company's production and warehouse
base in Sofia, as well as the purchase of new machines and
equipment. The investment is worth 5.017 million leva and will
provide 52 new jobs. The company is a major supplier of railway
infrastructure, maintenance and expansion of railway routes.

Vezieva expressed her pleasure to award such a certificate for
production activity in the railway infrastructure sector, part
of the high-tech field, and that in a period of crisis and
decline of investments. The attraction of investments generally
is a priority of the ministry, but attention is mainly paid to
those related to high-tech, production and the opening of
sustainable jobs, she added.
