NSSI Supervisory Board Adopts Decision to Update Pensions by 1.9% As of July 1

Sofia, May 11 (BTA) - The Supervisory Board of the National
Social Security Institute (NSSI) Monday decided to update
pensions extended until December 31, 2014, by 1.9 per cent as of
July 1, 2015, NSSI said.

The decision comes in execution of the provisions of Article 100
of the Social Insurance Code, according to which any pensions
granted until the 31st day of December of the preceding year
shall be updated on an annual basis as from the 1st day of July
by decision of the Supervisory Board of the National Social
Security Institute through adjustment by a percentage equal to
the sum total of 50 per cent of the increase of the contributory
income and 50 per cent of the consumer price index for the last
preceding calendar year.

The Board also endorsed a draft decree of the Council of
Ministers determining a new monthly amount of the social pension
for old age, which will be raised from 113 leva to 115.15 leva
as of July 1.
