Prime Ministers of Bulgaria, Qatar Sign Bilateral Intergovernmental Agreement for Cooperation in Fight against Crime

Doha, May 17 (BTA) - Prime Minister Boyko Borissov and Qatar's
Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin
Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani signed a bilateral intergovernmental
agreement for cooperation in the fight against crime, Cabinet's
press service said Sunday.

This is the first agreement in the security field signed between
the two countries, with which Borissov and Deputy Prime
Minister and Minister of Interior Roumyana Buchvarova laid the
foundations for cooperation in the field.

During the Sunday meeting between the two prime ministers, held
in Doha, Qatar expressed interest in cooperating with Bulgaria
in the areas of transport, agriculture and energy. The two
countries' respective ministers will discuss on Monday the
specific parameters for partnership in the different sectors.

Qatar's Prime Minister expressed belief that bilateral
cooperation will be reinforced, noting the importance of the
created intergovernmental commission, which through its meetings
contributes to the deepening of partnership between the two
countries. Borissov expressed intentions for active cooperation
as well. The two prime ministers confirmed their desire for also
developing economic contacts.

A letter of expression of interest for cooperation was signed
between Bulgargaz and Qatargas in the presence of the two prime
ministers and their delegations.

Borissov conferred with the Deputy Emir of Qatar, Sheikh
Abdullah bin Hamad bin Khalifa, earlier on Sunday.
