"World Theatre in Sofia" Festival
to Present
Four Plays


Sofia, May 20 (BTA) - The ninth installment of the festival,
World Theatre in Sofia, will be held between June 5 and 15 and
will include four plays and two sideline events, the organizers
said.

A show by renowned Italian director Pippo Delbono will be staged
for the first time in Bulgaria. The play is entitled "Orchids."
The programme of the festival also includes the Dutch
production "Habitat," inspired by a Buster Keaton silent film;
the Belgian dance show "Distance," which has earned a nomination
for a best choreography award in Portugal; a workshop led by
Luis Marrafa, who created "Distance"; the German production
"Judas" by the Munich Kammerspiele theatre; and a roundtable
discussion on the Gospel of Judas and its theatrical version,
with director Johan Simons and professor Gregor Wurst as special
guests.

Since 2007, World Theatre in Sofia, in association with Sofia
City Hall, has been presenting theatrical productions by some of
the world' most original companies. The titles are from the
programme of the Varna Summer International Theatre Festival.

The ninth installment of World Theatre in Sofia is being
organized with the support of the Ministry of Culture, the
Italian Cultural Institute, Goethe-Institut and the America for
Bulgaria Foundation. PK/VE
