Bulgaria Places 27th in European Games Medal Table

Sofia, June 28 (BTA) - Bulgaria placed 27th among 50 countries
in the medal table of the Baku 2015 European Games, which ended
on Sunday. The country earned one gold, four silver and five
bronze medals.

In the men's volleyball finals on Sunday, Bulgaria lost to
Germany 1-3 (16-25, 18-25, 31-29, 21-25) and won the silver
medal. The game was attended by Bulgarian President Rosen
Plevneliev and former President Peter Stoyanov. Plevneliev
congratulated the national team on winning second place in the
competition.

Earlier on, President Plevneliev also congratulated the only
Bulgarian gold winners in Baku, the sisters Gabriela and Stefani
Stoeva, who won the champions' title in the badminton women's
doubles on Saturday.

Plevneliev was also planning to attend the official closing
ceremony of the 1st European Games.

Bulgaria's medal winners at Baku 2015 are:

GOLD:

- Gabriela and Stefani Stoeva (badminton, women's doubles)

SILVER:

- National men's volleyball team
- Kalina Stefanova (sambo, women's 60 kg)
- Antoaneta Boneva (shooting, women's 25 m pistol)
- Elitsa Yankova (wrestling, women's 48 kg freestyle)

BRONZE:

- Petya Nedelcheva (badminton, women's singles)
- Magdalena Varbanova (sambo, women's 52 kg)
- Daniel Aleksandrov (wrestling, men's 80 kg Greco-Roman)
- Evelina Nikolova (wrestling, women's 55 kg freestyle)
- Taybe Yusein (wrestling, women's 60 kg freestyle)
