Bulgarian National Team Wins Six Medals at  19th Junior Balkan Mathematical Olympiad

Sofia, June 29 (BTA) - The Bulgarian national mathematics team
won six medals at the 19th Junior Balkan Mathematical Olympiad
in Belgrade, the Ministry of Education and Science said.

Ivan-Alexander Mavrov of Sofia's School of Mathematics and
Evgeni Kairyakov of the School of Mathematics in Plovdiv won
gold medals.

Borislav Antov, also from Sofia's school, won silver.

Kiril Baigachev and Boris Barabov, both from Antov's school, and
Kristian Vassilev of the First Private School of Mathematics in
Sofia, won bronze medals.

The event was held from June 24 to 28 in Belgrade and featured
school students under 15. Bulgaria's team ranked third, directly
after Turkey and Romania.

The team works under the guidance of Prof. Sava Grozdev and
Irina Sharkova.
