Natural Gas Price in Bulgaria Not Expected to Rise
Sofia, July 15 (BTA) - The prices of natural gas in Bulgaria are not expected to rise for the time being, and the nuclear deal with Iran is having a favourable influence on the world market prices of gas, Energy and Water Regulatory Commission Chairman Ivan Ivanov commented to journalists here on Wednesday.
"As a result of the deal, the restrictions on export and trade in Iranian oil and gas will be lifted in the coming months and Iran will thus emerge as a key player on the gas market, which will help keep down the prices of crude oil and of crude gas at levels affordable to users," Ivanov commented. He added that even on Tuesday, after the deal the world market price of crude oil dropped by 1 US dollar. It is not yet clear, however, whether this will affect the natural gas price in Bulgaria as early as from the next regulatory period which begins on October 1, Ivanov pointed out.
