Minister Pavlova Present Polycentric Model of Regions' Development during Mexico Forum

Mexico, October 18 (BTA) - Bulgaria's urban development is a key element in the Government's regional policy because the cities are complex systems, which could be engines of sustainable development, Bulgarian Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Liliyana Pavlova said, quoted by her Ministry's press centre. She was addressing the Sixth Roundtable of Mayors and Ministers of the Organization of Economic Cooperation and Development, held in Mexico with the participation of high-level representatives from both national and local governments.

The forum aims to discuss policies for more resilient, inclusive cities in an increasingly urbanising era under the theme of "The Metropolitan Century: Policies for Resilient and Inclusive Cities".

In her speech, Minister Pavlova declared herself in favour of long-term strategy, vision and policies for sustainable urban management in order to cope successfully with the challenges, with which the cities are faced.

In the sidelines of the forum, Minister Pavlova met with Mexican Minister of Agrarian Reform and Urban Development Maria Del Rosario Robles Berlanga and Mexico City Mayor Miguel Angel Mancera.
