Teachers' Wages Increased by 70 Leva
Sofia, October 27 (BTA) - Trade unions reached agreement with
Finance Minister Vladislav Goranov that teachers' monthly wages
will be increased by 70 leva as of October 1, Bulgarian
Teachers' Trade Union President Yanka Takeva said on Tuesday.
The meeting was also attended by Prime Minister Boyko Borissov.
Teachers' start-up wages will be raised by 12.6 per cent to 600
leva a month, Takeva said. The average wage in the sector will
become 890 leva.
"The good news is that education will be a budgetary priority in
2016," she said. "Everything we demanded will be secured from
next year's budget."
