BSP Left Bulgaria to Seek Support for No Confidence Vote on Various Sector Policies

Sofia, December 17 (BTA) - The parliamentary group of Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) Left Bulgaria will seek support for a no confidence vote on various sector policies, Deputy Floor Leader Atanas Merdzhanov said in a declaration from the rostrum Thursday.

The detailed motives will be presented before all parliamentary groups and before individual MPs, including independent ones, and the support they show will be indicative of who is in opposition and who is actually unreliable, Merdzhanov said. BSP demands that each parliamentary group declare its attitude to the incumbent Bulgarian government.

The obligations in the energy sector already exceed 1,000 million leva, while in home affairs and security the government failed to complete a single cm of the defence facility along the border with Turkey. Other possible subjects of the no confidence vote include defence, foreign policy, the changes in health care, education, social policy because of the frozen social payments and regional policy because of the unfounded increase of vignette fees.

"The BSP is also open to the proposals of new respondents in opposition," Merdzhanov said, turning to the MPs of Democrats for Strong Bulgaria. In his words, the subjects on which a total failure can be established are so many that they will suffice for all.

BSP Left Bulgaria declares - and whoever has the courage may follow it - that this government has failed, has not fulfilled its pre-election promise to guarantee stability, Merdzhanov said. In the past year alone, there were protests from policemen, prison faced with cynicism, systematic absence of ministers from Question Time and absurd statements, Merdzhanov said.
