Protesting Road Hauliers  Agree to Not Block Greek Border on Easter

Sofia, April 25 (BTA) - The Bulgarian-Greek border will not be blocked during the Easter holiday, Transport, IT and Communications Minister Ivaylo Moskovski said Monday after he and Prime Minister Boyko Borissov met with representatives of protesting road hauliers and tour operators.

Organizations of Bulgarian road hauliers were planning to block the border with Greece to all truck, bus and car traffic from April 29 to May 8 in retaliation for a 40-day-long border blockade by protesting Greek farmers in January and February 2016.

Moskovski noted that this is the last time the Bulgarian side is making a compromise. The Bulgarian business community will state in a declaration its intention to undertake reciprocal actions in case of a new border blockade on the Greek side, he added.
