730 Police to Be Posted to Seaside Resorts This Summer

Sofia, June 2 (BTA) - Interior Minister Roumyana Buchvarova Thursday said that 730 police would be posted to the Black Sea resorts this summer. Their number will be larger than last year, she added after meeting with diplomats from the countries whose citizens visit Bulgaria.

She told journalists that a busy summer tourist season was expected. Joint patrols with police from other countries, including Romania and the Czech Republic, will be employed again.

Interior Ministry Chief Secretary Georgi Kostov said about 550 of the posted policemen would be working with the Regional Directorate of the Interior of Bourgas as the Sunny Beach resort is identified as a high-risk location.

Tourism Minister Nikolina Angelkova said tourists can report incidents to the Interior Ministry around the clock.
