President Plevneliev: Bulgaria to Continue to Work for European Perspective of Western Balkan Countries

Sofia, June 10 (BTA) - Meeting with the Speaker of the Parliament of Kosovo, Kadri Veseli, here on Friday, President Rosen Plevneliev said that Bulgaria will continue to work for the realization of the European perspective of all countries in the Western Balkans. Plevneliev said, quoted by his press secretariat, that Bulgaria will support Kosovo along the road to stability and prosperity.

Plevneliev said that the establishment of the rule of law and implementing the education reform in Kosovo are of key importance for increasing the trust of the European partners and for the economic development of Kosovo.

Veseli said that his country is grateful for Bulgaria's consistent support along Kosovo's European path and relies on Bulgaria's expertise and experience.

The two officials concurred that fostering of relations of good neighbourliness and friendship in Southeast Europe is a sine qua non for the realization of the economic potential of the region and for attracting strategic investors. Bulgaria and Kosovo will act to encourage the business contacts between the two. Plevneliev singled out the ICT sector, outsourcing and energy as the most promising areas to expand the economic exchange between Bulgaria and Kosovo.

Plevneliev extended an invitation to his Kosovo counterpart Hashim Thaci to visit Bulgaria at the head of a business delegation.
