Brussels/Sofia, November 7 (BTA) - Bulgarian Economy Minister Emil Karanikolov conferred in Brussels with the Director General of the Confederation of European Business (BusinessEurope), Markus J. Beyrer, and with the head of the Committee on the Internal Market and Consumer Protection (IMCO) in the European Parliament, Anneleen Van Bossuyt, Karanikolov's Ministry said.

Karanikolov and Beyrer dwelled on the industrial policy strategy recently adopted by the European Commission, noting that it is a positive step in the creation of an overall long-term industrial policy of the EU.

Karanikolov said that the Economy Ministry will press on with its efforts to make the EU's industrial policy strategy a leading topic within the informal Competitiveness Council in Sofia on February 1, 2018. Beyrer accepted Karanikolov's invitation to attend the Competitiveness Council.

Later on Tuesday Karanikolov conferred with the head of the Committee on the Internal Market and Consumer Protection (IMCO) in the European Parliament, Anneleen Van Bossuyt. On the agenda of the talks were the competitive single market, the industrial policy, entrepreneurship and the common trade policy of the EU.
