Sofia, February 15 (BTA) - Prime Minister Boyko Borissov is attending the Munich Security Conference on February 15 and 16, the government information service (GIS) said.

The Munich Security Conference, which has brought together more than 450 leaders from across the world every year for the last five decades, has become a major global forum discussing security policy. This year the focus is on the EU's role as a global player in security relations; the threats to the international order; and arms control, including the tension caused by North Korea's nuclear programme, the GIS said.

Borissov will attend the formal dinner for the opening of the event and will participate in discussions on transatlantic relations, EU-NATO defence cooperation and the EU's Defence Union.

Krassimir Karakachanov, Deputy Prime Minister for public order and security and Defence Minister, is on the Bulgarian delegation to the conference.
