Sofia, February 20 (BTA) - Bulgaria's Deputy Prime Minister for Public Order and Security Krassimir Karakachanov conferred here on Tuesday with Saudi Arabia's Assistant President of State Security Abdullah bin Abdulkarim Al-Essa, Karakachanov's Ministry said in a press release.

Karakachanov expressed satisfaction with the meeting which follows up on the arrangements reached during the visit to Riyadh in November 2017 of a Bulgarian government delegation led by Prime Minister Boyko Borissov, the press release says. The Defence Minister stressed the importance and topical relevance of the topics discussed, related to terrorism and security. He noted that terrorism is a common problem for all countries and must be addressed in the wisest and most practical way.

During the meeting, the assistant head of the Saudi Presidency of State Security expressed his country's interest in deepening relations with Bulgaria, especially in the security field.

The sides concurred that bilateral cooperation in counter-terrorism will benefit both Bulgaria and Saudi Arabia and the partner countries.
