Sofia, March 2 (BTA) - The Bulgarian Interior Ministry dismantled 109 criminal organizations last year, Interior Minister Valentin Radev reported, addressing Parliament during Question Time on Friday.
These were mostly organized crime groups dealing in drugs in almost all regional capitals. Customs offences were the next most numerous in organized crime, and corruption offences were the fewest, accounting for just 5.5 per cent of the total.
In a bid to combat drug dealers around schools, the Ministry has distributed nearly 400,000 leaflets among children.
A total of 526 minors dealing in drugs were detained last year.
