Sofia, April 16 (BTA) - The Audit Office reported Monday that 25 parties have not submitted their financial reports for 2017 against 137 which have.

A total of 18 of the 25 parties are active: Prosperity-Unity-Creativity, Bulgarian Industrial Agrarian Party, Bulgarian Agrarian Union, Vote Conservative, Civic Power, Movement for Equal Public Model, Popular Fist to Defend Pensioners, Unemployed and Socially Weak, Other Bulgaria, European Security and Integration, Libertas Bulgaria, Nikola Petkov Popular Agrarian Union, National Patriotic Union, United Bulgaria, Together for Sliven Political Movement, Homeland, Union of Democratic Parties and ERA-3 Movement, Active Civil Society Federation and Chernomorets.

The remaining seven parties that have not submitted reports were disassembled in 2017.

The Audit Office will alert the prosecution that four of the parties that have not submitted reports have not done so for a second year in a row: Bulgarian Agrarian Union, Civic Power, Nikola Petkov Popular Agrarian Union and National Patriotic Union. According to Item 4 of Article 40 (1) of the Political Parties Act, Sofia City Court dismantles political parties when they do not submit their financial reports to the Audit Office in two consecutive years.

Although submitted on time, the reports of two parties do not meet the requirements of the law regarding their form and content.

All parties which have not submitted reports or whose reports do not meet the requirements face fines ranging from 5,000 to 10,000 leva, the Audit Office added in the press release.
