site.btaFirst Train With New Passenger Cars Departs From Sofia to Burgas on June 22
The first of the 19 modernized passenger cars that the Bulgarian State Railways (BDZ) bought from the German company Deutsche Bahn will be put into operation on June 22, said the press centre of BDZ on Tuesday. The composition will be made up of four air-conditioned salon-type carriages and one carriage for the transport of persons with reduced mobility, which will travel permanently as part of the train composition.
The train will depart from Sofia Central Station at 06:15 and arrive in Burgas at 12:10. In the opposite direction, the train will depart from Burgas station at 4:00 p.m. and arrive in Sofia at 9:55 p.m., BDZ stated. It will run every day until the end of the summer season and will cover the distance between the capital and the seaside town in 5 hours and 55 minutes, stopping at seven stations along its route.
