site.btaPress Trust of India to Cover European Elections from Sofia

A journalist from the Indian news agency Press Trust of India (PTI) will cover the European Parliament election from Sofia, while a journalist from the Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) will cover the parliamentary election in New Delhi, India, BTA Director General Kiril Valchev and PTI CEO Vijay Joshi agreed here on Monday. Joshi is visiting Bulgaria at Valchev's invitation.

The PTI Executive Director met with Valchev, Deputy Director General Evgenia Drumeva, Deputy Director of International News Lyubomir Martinov as well as with the editors Gabriela Ivanova and Bozhidar Kolev. The meeting discussed the possibilities for exchange of journalists between the two agencies as envisaged in the cooperation agreement they signed in Toronto, Canada, in 2023.

Joshi is PTI's Editor-in-Chief and CEO. He previously worked for The Associated Press in various roles, including the last one as the head of Southeast Asian operations based in Bangkok. He has reported from more than 30 countries around the world.
