site.btaStudents, Teachers from Moldova Begin Bulgarian Language and Culture Course at Ruse University Branch
A total of 50 students and five teachers from the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia, Moldova, arrived on Monday at the Taraclia branch of Angel Kanchev University of Ruse to participate in a Bulgarian language and culture programme. The course is organized under Bulgaria’s Council of Ministers Resolution No. 103 on educational activities among Bulgarians abroad and will run until October 26.
The participants come from schools where Bulgarian is taught as a native language. The training programme, prepared by the University’s Departments of Bulgarian Language, Literature, History and Arts, and Foreign Languages, combines language instruction with cultural-historical excursions to museums, landmarks, and institutions in Ruse and the region.
Vice Rector International Relations, Assoc. Prof. Dr Galina Ivanova, emphasized the University’s openness to young people from Bulgarian communities worldwide. Assoc. Prof. Dr Boris Kostov and Assoc. Prof. Dr Valentina Vasileva introduced participants to the academic programmes and opportunities to continue their studies in Ruse and Taraclia. Assoc. Prof. Dr Mira Dushkova presented the language and cultural-historical programme, which includes visits to museums and regional landmarks.
