Izmail Region Hit by Drone Attack, Odesa Regional Military Administration Chair Says

The Izmail Region was subjected to a massive drone attack overnight, Odesa Regional Military Administration Chair Oleh Kiper said on the Telegram app on Thursday. 

According to his information, debris of a struck drone damaged a car in which there was a woman. She is hospitalized.

As a result of the hostile attack, there was damage to port infrastructure, non-working educational institution, residential buildings and vehicles, the Regional Governor said.

The drone attack in the Odesa region lasted about four hours.

According to local channels on Telegram, more than 20 drones have attacked the region, most of them targeting the southern part - the Izmail, Bolhrad and Bilhorod-Dnistrovs'kyi regions.

Odesa Region is home to the third largest community of expatriate Bulgarians, numbering more than 150,000 people, according to an official population census in Ukraine in 2001. Between 50,000 and 60,000 Bulgarians live in the regional capital, Odesa. Bulgarians in the region are concentrated in the districts of Bolhrad, Izmail, and Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi.
