site.btaTaraclia Art School Pupils Win Awards at Children’s Ethnic Festival in Bulgaria

More than1,800 pupils from Bulgaria, India, Russia, North Macedonia, Serbia, Moldova, Ukraine and Montenegro took part in the 21st edition of a festival entitled The Children on the Balkans with Spiritual Wealth in Europe. Pupils of the Children's School of Arts in Taraclia, Moldova, won two first, one second and two third places, school principal Sergei Berov told BTA on Tuesday.

A total of 27 pupils from the school took part in the festival. The winners are:

Pavel Pomuzhak on nai (a traditional Romanian diatonic pan flute) took first place in the folk music instruments category. He is a 4th-grade student of Vitaly Terzi;

Danil Kiriyak on trumpet took first place in the classical music instruments category. He is a 3rd-grade student of Vitaly Terzi;

The Sazvezdie (Constellation) Dance Collective took second place in the folk dance category and a special award from the Confederation of Independent Trade Unions in Bulgaria (CITUB). The children are 3rd-grade students of Elena Mishkoy;

The Taracliiche chamber vocal group won a special award from CITUB. They are 6th-grade students of Alina Todorova.

The festival devoted to International Children’s Day was held in the southern village of Mineralni Bani. The main organizers are the Prof Zheljazko Hristov Charity Fund and the CITUB, in partnership with Minerlani Bani Municipality. The basic idea is ethnic tolerance.

"We want to understand each other better and ethnic groups to respect and accept their differences," said CITUB President  Plamen Dimitrov.
