Director Vera Nemirova to Present Her Approach to Richard Wagner's Work at Bulgarian Cultural Institute in Berlin

Director Vera Nemirova will present her approach to the work of composer Richard Wagner at the Bulgarian Cultural Institute in Berlin on May 28. The director of the Bulgarian Cultural Institute, Borislav Petranov, told BTA that she will show video recordings of his most important works that she has directed.

The composer's works staged by Vera Nemirova include Der Ring des Nibelungen at the Frankfurt Opera, Die Walküre at the Salzburg Easter Festival in 2017 and Tannhäuser and the Singers Contest at Wartburg Castle at the Frankfurt Opera in 2007 and at the Karlsruhe Opera House in 2024. Her first production staged in Bulgaria was also by the German composer - The Flying Dutchman. It premiered in 2023 at the Varna Opera House. 

The event Vera Nemirova's Paths to Wagner starts at 7 pm local time at Leipziger straße 114-115, 10117 Berlin.

"The famous director was born in Bulgaria and has lived in Germany since 1982. She is a graduate of the Hanns Eisler School of Music in Berlin," Borislav Petranov also said.
