The power system of the Odesa Province was damaged as a result of Russian shelling on Sunday night, the Odesa City Council said on its website. In order to reduce the load on the network, the city's electric transport will not operate on Monday, the city hall said.

In connection with the temporary shutdown of the city electric transport, bus operators have launched more transport on the line.

Odesa Province is home to the third largest community of expatriate Bulgarians, numbering more than 150,000 people, according to an official population census in Ukraine in 2001. Between 50,000 and 60,000 Bulgarians live in the provincial capital Odesa. Bulgarians in the province are concentrated in the districts of Bolhrad, Izmail, and Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi.
