site.btaSixth Edition of Festival of Vratsa Wines, Rakia, Appetizers to Open on December 14

More than 100 participants have expressed desire to participate in the upcoming sixth edition of the Festival of Vratsa Wines, Rakia and Appetizers, Vratsa Municipality told BTA on Friday.

The festival will open on December 14 at the Hristo Botev Square. According to tradition, master elixirs and delicious products will be judged by a jury. Tsvetomira Milenova from the Hell's Kitchen TV show will be the special guest of the festival, said the organizers.

The favourable conditions for growing vines in Vratsa Region, and especially the old variety Vrachanski Misket (Vratsa Muscat), have contributed to the production of high-quality wines in the region. At the end of the 19th century and during the 20th century, viticulture and winemaking were the main livelihood of many residents of Vratsa.
