The elections saw a "brutal theft of votes", Velichie [Grandeur] party leader Ivelin Mihaylov said on Monday in a YouTube video, commenting on the October 27 snap general elections results. Mihaylov thanked everyone who voted for his political formation.
In his words, what is happening is not without the knowledge of the other parties. There is an illusion of democracy here, Mihaylov said.
The party announced that it will explicitly demand an inspection of the elections in the municipality of Simitli, where they believe there are major violations, for which they will file complaints to the Central Election Commission, the Constituency Election Commission and the Prosecution Office.
Commenting on the split of his former parliamentary group, Mihaylov said that the political formation "cleaned itself" in the 50th National Assembly.
"What we promised when we started our public appearances was to shed light on the processes one by one, he recalled, adding that they first showed how MPs are bought. In the National Assembly we saw how parties are bought, but we also showed how public issues are defended," Mihaylov pointed out.
"If our only goal is to be in power, I can always get in if I agree with those who are there and fulfil some of their wishes," Mihaylov noted.
According to him, people sell their vote because they see no other alternative. Mihaylov stressed that Velichie's voters are those to whom the party has promised justice. He said that the formation will work very hard to change many things by the next elections. He promised that his party will show how to work on the ground without using state resources.
"The CEC has just expelled Velichie from Parliament with a rigged result of 3.999%. This is a demonstration. A demonstration of the mafia against the people," the political formation wrote on its Facebook page earlier on Monday evening.
