The Central Election Commission (CEC) has declared the end of parliamentary election day nationwide with a decision at 9 p.m. local time on Sunday. CEC members commented that the election day passed smoothly.
The election hours in Bulgaria ran from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. local time. If there were any citizens waiting on a queue to exercise their right to vote in front of a multi-member constituency, the election day was extended to 9 p.m. at the latest. Outside the country, voting takes place in same hours local time.
At 9 p.m. EET voting closed in Germany, France, and Austria.
At 10 p.m. EET, voting closed in the United Kingdom, Northern Ireland, Ireland and Portugal.
Voting in Australia, Asia and Africa closed earlier in the day.
Polling stations on the West Coast of US and Canada will close last, as the election day there is expected to end at 5 a.m. Bulgarian time on Monday.
