A total of 846 case files and 111 pre-trial proceedings for violations of citizens' political rights were initiated by 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, the prosecution service said.
The most pre-trial proceedings were recorded in Sofia (37), followed by Burgas (32), Varna (29), Veliko Tarnovo (8)  and Plovdiv (5).

The press centre of the prosecution service recalled that the Supreme Prosecutor's Office has a duty unit of prosecutors and employees that summarizes the information received from the prosecutor's offices throughout the country.

The National Interdepartmental Unit continues to function and coordinate the activities of the prosecution service, the Interior Ministry and the State Agency for National Security to ensure a quick and adequate response to counter crimes related to the electoral process and the lawful conduct of the National Assembly elections.

The Interior Ministry said that as of 12 p.m. on Sunday, 123 pre-trial proceedings were instituted to combat crimes against the political rights of citizens, 81 were investigated under a general procedure and 42 were fast-tracked. Of all the pre-trial proceedings, 111 were specifically for violated political rights. A total of 71 people were detained within the framework of the 227 specialized police operations carried out so far on the territory of the country.
