During a meeting with residents of Sredets, Vazrazhdane MP candidate Zvezdelina Karavelova pointed out the lack of economic development, infrastructure and transport connectivity in the region.
"Lack of streets, sidewalks, garbage disposal: those are problems that have not been solved for years, even though GERB ruled here for 12 years", she noted, adding that even a drizzle muddies up the streets in the town.
Karavelova emphasized that infrastructure development is one of her main priorities, as she believes that quality transport and communications are essential for economic development. "When municipalities cannot cope on their own, the state must also help in this direction. Especially for Strandzha region, we need constant and targeted support", she said, adding that investments in infrastructure will also stimulate tourism.
Strong support for local business is also necessary, as small and medium-sized enterprises are the main engine of the economy. They should receive appropriate support by easing the tax burden, improving access to financing and providing guidance for innovation, Karavelova pointed out.
