Vazrazhdane top-of-the-list candidate in Montana Petar Petrov on Tuesday commented on the prerogatives of the politicians, regarding the judicial reform and the election of the prosecutor general.

"We all know that a lot depends on the actions of the prosecutor general, and we also all know that in the last, let's say decades, the prosecutor general has not fulfilled the public's expectations", Petrov said. He noted that the next National Assembly must ensure that the election procedures for the new prosecutor general are transparent.

Petrov noted that the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC), whose mandate has expired, should not conduct a procedure for the election of the new prosecutor general. "In my personal opinion, this SJC should not conduct such a procedure, because the mandate of the prosecutor general is 7 years. And when you have a non-working prosecutor general, as we have had until now, then we have a big justice problem in Bulgaria", Petrov concluded.
