Caretaker Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev Tuesday said the government's main goal now is to prevent any election violations.

Speaking before the cabinet meeting, Glavchev talked about the Interior Ministry's work ahead of the October 27 parliamentary elections. There have been 168 alerts, 60 pre-trial proceedings, 30 arrested persons and 160 specialized police operations.

The Prime Minister recalled that the caretaker government has concentrated on its main duty - to ensure that fair and transparent elections are held.

The Interior Ministry and the prosecution service crack down on vote buying and selling, Glavchev said. "On the other hand, Bulgarians have two options to vote. "In line with the effective legislation, we are striving to ensure fair machine voting."
