Speaking to party supporters in the village of Snyagovo in Southeastern Bulgaria, BSP leader Atanas Zafirov said that Bulgarians have always had the reputation of being a hard-working, tolerant and generous people.
“Yet, in recent years, we seem to have forgotten this. Let us treat the elderly as we want our parents, grandparents and parents to be treated. Let us treat women as we want our wives, daughters, mothers, sisters and grandmothers to be treated. Let us accept others as we want to be accepted. Let us respect the people around us so that we too can receive respect. There should be no division based on ethnic, religious, gender, age or any other factor. Together we can learn to be better people, better Bulgarians. I want to believe that we still are and we can show it,” he said.
The rally was also attended by former president Georgi Parvanov and Petar Kanev, who tops the party list in Burgas.
