site.btaYoung People, Small Businesses Need Real Support, Says BSP - United Left MP Candidate in Haskovo
"Haskovo is in a demographic and economic crisis. The state and the municipality must provide real support for young people to make it possible for them to start their families and stay here", said BSP - United Left MP candidate Bogdan Kirilov on Friday.
Kirilov's priorities for the region are in sync with the social programme of the coalition, which envisages an increase in one-time birth allowances to BGN 5,000 for a first and to BGN 10,000 for a second and a third child, an increase in the amount of maternity cash benefit for the second year of the maternity leave to the level of the minimum wage, as well as a state scholarship of 300 BGN for full-time student mothers with children up to 6 years of age.
Kirilov noted that Haskovo ranks at the bottom in terms of innovation potential, as well as in terms of average salary. He emphasised that these negative trends can be reversed by improving the access of small and medium-sized enterprises to finances through preferential loans by the Bulgarian Development Bank, as well as by reducing the administrative burden for micro-enterprises, small traders and producers.
