It is not necessary for the State to give more money, it should change direction, said the leader of Velichie Ivelin Mihaylov at an open meeting with supporters in Svishtov.
He added that no one wants to create because they do not see a future. It is important for the region to build the Belene Nuclear Powe Plant because it will attract many workers, the party leader said.
"We will not allow those in power to stop the movement of people, which they're trying to do, but we will show how several regions can develop outside their rule," Mihaylov added. He said the lack of good connectivity in the country is a factor in the depopulation of small settlements. "We want to bring life back to the villages and make sure that our country has the best produce," Mihaylov added.
According to him, the State has no security services, which means Bulgaria has no protection. He said that the way Bulgaria functions does not allow it to take geopolitical stances because it cannot defend itself.
The programme for the development of different sectors was also presented to the supporters. Part of it includes improving infrastructure, developing rail transport, attracting foreign tourists. Among the ideas of Velichie is to build a navigable canal connecting Varna (on the Black Sea) and Silistra (on the Danube), which would restore river navigation and the movement of goods.
