A nine-member delegation from the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), led by Oleksiy Goncharenko (Ukraine), will travel to Bulgaria from June 7 to 10 to observe the conduct of the June 9 snap parliamentary elections, the PACE press service said on Monday.

Prior to observing the ballot, the delegation will meet with a team of election experts from the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights, leaders or representatives of political parties and coalitions, the Chair and members of the Central Election Commission, and representatives of NGOs and the media.

A member of the Venice Commission – the Council of Europe's group of independent legal experts – will provide legal support during the visit organized by the PACE Elections Division.

The delegation will issue a statement the day after the elections, June 10.
