There is great potential for further development of the excellent cooperation between Bulgaria and Argentina in the field of Antarctic research, climate change, and other pressing global issues, said Foreign Minister Georg Georgiev. He was speaking during a Friday meeting with his Argentine counterpart Gerardo Werthein in the framework of the Munich Security Conference, the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry reported.

Georgiev thanked Argentina for the valuable support provided to Bulgarian Antarctic expeditions over the years. The meeting was part of Bulgaria's efforts to maintain its position in Latin America and strengthen its traditionally good bilateral relations with Argentina.

Georgiev invited his counterpart to visit Bulgaria. Werthein thanked for the invitation and stated that Bulgaria remains one of Argentina's traditionally good partners.

The counterparts also discussed artificial intelligence and the progress of individual countries in its development and use, as well as cooperation in traditional areas such as trade and investment, culture, education and science, research and innovation, agriculture and tourism.
