Stefani Stoeva and Gabriela Stoeva won the women's doubles title at the International Challenge badminton tournament in Istanbul, which had a prize fund of USD 17,500.
The sisters, who were the top seeds in the doubles draw, defeated the home representatives and second seeds, Bengisu Ercetin and Nazlıcan İnci (Turkey), in the final with a score of 21:10, 21:19 in 50 minutes on court.
The Bulgarians easily won the first game, but the second was much more evenly contested. The national team players were trailing 18:19 but managed a comeback with a streak of three consecutive points to close out the match.
Stefani and Gabriela Stoeva, who finished fifth at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games and at the 2025 World Championships in Paris, claimed the trophy after four victories. Against these opponents, they now have 11 wins in 11 matches.
They earned their sixth title of 2025 and their third since September, following triumphs in Leuven (Belgium) and Al Ain (United Arab Emirates).
