Bulgarian Youth and Sports Minister Confers with Iraqi Counterpart

Caretaker Minister of Youth and Sports Georgi Glushkov held a meeting with his Iraqi counterpart Ahmed Al-Mubarqa, the Bulgarian Ministry of Sports reported on Friday. The two discussed potential future cooperation between the two countries in the fields of youth and sports.

Glushkov stated that exchanging experience would be beneficial for both countries. He emphasized that Bulgaria and Iraq could collaborate by sharing good practices in sports infrastructure, where Iraq has made significant progress in recent years, by exchanging sports experts, partnering in the fight against doping, and organizing joint initiatives related to youth policies.

Al-Mubarqa said that Bulgaria has strong sports traditions and expressed hope that bilateral relations between the two countries will deepen.

Attending the meeting were also Iraq’s Ambassador to Bulgaria Lina Omar, Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Petar Mladenov and Teodorina Todorova-Petkanin, Director of the Ministry’s Directorate for European Programmes, Projects, and International Cooperation.
