Bulgarian badminton player Stefani Stoeva continues to the semi-finals of the International Series tournament in Cairo (Egypt), thus securing a medal from the competition.

The Bulgarian player defeated Katrin Neudolt (Austria) 21:11, 21:6 in 24 minutes, and her opponent for a place in the final will be announced later on Saturday.

Gabriela Stoeva and Evgeni Panev, who overcame the qualifiers, will play India's Mohit and Lakshita Jaglan in the quarterfinals.

Meanwhile, number two seed Teodor Mitev qualified for the quarterfinals of the U17 international badminton tournament in the German city of Mulheim.

The Bulgarian defeated Jarno Deters (Germany) 30:29, 21:9 in 33 minutes. His next opponent will be Jovyan Ayomi (Indonesia).

Elena Popivanova and Viktoriya Popova will play later today in the girls doubles against Martha Franklin and Lilly Wood (England).
