The Varna 200 Regatta started from the Black Sea port of Varna, known as Bulgaria’s sea capital, at 6 p.m. on Wednesday. Five of the fastest yachts in Bulgaria – ABOAT TIME, KIARA, PETRA, ARROUTADO and LZ YACHTING, are participating in the race.

The regatta is monitored by an online safety tracker system. So far, the yachts have covered more than a quarter of the 200-mile distance. At this stage, ABOAT TIME is leading the race.

The 100-mile midway checkpoint is near the coastal town of Nessebar. The crews will reach it in the early afternoon on Thursday.

The regatta is a non-stop one. To cross the finishing line back in Varna, the crews will make a turning point near the coastal town of Tsarevo.
