CSKA Sofia football club appointed the Croatian specialist Tomislav Stipić as head coach, the club reported on Tuesday. His appointment follows the exit of former head coach Stamen Belchev after a 0:2 loss to CSKA 1948 in the UEFA Conference League qualification playoff.
The 44-year-old Croatian inked a two-year deal with the club. Stipić shared his alignment with the team's ambitions in fluent Bulgarian shortly after arriving in Bulgaria. The coach, previously at the helm of Latvia's Riga, secured the national cup in 2023, narrowly failing to capture the championship title.
Stipić will be officially introduced to the fans at a press conference on June 10.
