Sports Minister Georgi Glushkov has ordered a probe of the Bulgarian Sports Totalizator.
The Totalizator’s leadership failed to notify the ministry of problems with its central computer system for the past three days.
Following alerts from members of the public the Ministry sent an inquiry to the totalizator.
The Ministry says it is unacceptable that the Bulgarian Sports Totalizator did not inform the public of the problems over the past three days, thus undermining trust in this institution which is key to the Bulgarian sports.
After a meeting with the totalizator’s Executive Director Georgi Tarlekov, Minister Glushkov ordered the probe.
In a statement later on Thursday, the Totalizator said that the disruptions were due to planned maintenance. The offices of the totalizator have resumed taking in bets and sale of scratch cards.
The Bulgarian Sports Totalizator that data about all bets is stored, backed-up and completely protected.
