On the eve the 100th anniversary of boxing in Bulgaria, Bulgaria’s national boxing team collected a record-breaking set of 11 medals at the 2024 European Amateur Boxing Championships in Belgrade.

20-year-old Radoslav Rosenov secured Bulgaria’s tenth medal in Belgrade in the men’s 60 kilograms weight class by beating Artur Tuniyeu of Belarus. By reaching the semifinals, Rosenov secured at least a bronze medal. On Thursday, he will fight Artur Sahakyan of Armenia for a spot in the final.

Rami Kiwan defeated Poland's Michal Jarlinski by a 5-0 vote in the 75 kg event and is taking on Remo Salvati (Italy) on Thursday.

Historically, Bulgarian boxers have never won more than 9 medals at a single European Championships event. The achievement dates back to 1989 when the Bulgarians claim 3 gold, 1 silver and 5 bronze medals in Athens.
