Over 250 International Competitors to Take Part in Burgas Sailing Week 2024

The 31st edition of the Burgas Sailing Week will be held from April 27 to May 1 in the Burgas Bay, the organizers said on Friday. 

A total of 250 competitors from Bulgaria, Romania, Greece, Turkiye and Ukraine will take part in the International Regatta Port Burgas 2024. They will compete in the Optimist class, ILKA 4, 420, Finn and the Olympic classes ILKA 6, ILKA 7 and 470. An international jury with judges from Greece, Turkiye and Bulgaria will determine the winners. 

The organizer of the competition is the Port Burgas yacht club, together with the Port of Burgas and the City Hall. Similar events are held in many countries around the world, with the Burgas Sailing Week ranked among the best in the world, said Evgeniy Mavrodiev, Chair of the Port of Burgas yacht club, adding that the race is one of the few Bulgarian regattas included in the sports calendar of world sailing in 2024.

According to the programme, the individual races will be held in front of the central beach of Burgas. The Sailing Week will start with a parade of the participants, which will pass in front of the Sea Terminal at around 13:00 on Sunday.
