The best athletes in the world will take part in the 2024 Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup in Sofia, the Bulgarian Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation (BRGF) said at a press conference. The competition will be held in Arena Sofia from April 12 to 14.

Boryana Kaleyn, Stiliyana Nikolova and a women's ensemble will represent Bulgaria, including Magdalina Minevska, Sofia Ivanova, Kamelia Petrova, Rachel Stoyanov and Margarita Vasileva.

A total of 55 individual athletes from 42 countries and 13 ensembles will compete in Sofia.

International Federation of Gymnastics President Morinari Watanabe will be a special guest at the World Cup.

BRGF Vice President Nevyana Vladinova expressed excitement for the gathering of the world elite of sports in Sofia for yet another year. She noted that this year is an Olympic year so the competition will be very strong. Only world champion Darja Varfolomeev (Germany) and China's ensembles will not participate in the competition, she added.

Earlier in the day, the BRGF headquarters signed a partnership agreement with UNICEF and funds from day tickets from Friday's competition will be donated to charity.

From April 4 to April 7, an international rhythmic gymnastics tournament will take place in the Sofia hall. Representatives of 36 countries will take part in it, including 90 girls from 45 teams and 85 women. For the first time, there will also be a competition for ensembles.
