Albert Popov recorded 14th place in the slalom of the alpine skiing Audi FIS World Cup in the US resort of Palisades Tahoe.

The Bulgarian finished with a total time of 1:43.60 seconds. He was 19th after the first run, but in the second he was able to show progress and achieve his fourth best ranking of the season.

The winner of the race was Austrian Manuel Feller, with a total time of 1:42.08 minutes, 1.52 seconds ahead of Popov.

Frenchman Clement Noel finished second after Feller, 0.28 seconds behind the winner, followed by  Linus Strasser, Timon Haugan,  Kristoffer Jakobsen and Alex Vinatzer.

Feller lead the slalom standings with 590 points, followed by Strasser with 386 points, and Noel with 352 points. Albert Popov was in 19th place with 111 points.

On Saturday, Marco Odermatt secured his third successive alpine skiing World Cup title, leading the World Cup standings with 1,702 points. Second was Feller with 801 points.

Nine races remain until the end of the season, three of which are in the slalom discipline. The next round is next week in Aspen, Colorado.
