The matches will take place at the Avenue Tennis Centre in the seaside city on February 3 and 4, each day beginning at 2 p.m. local time. Admission is free and limited to the seating capacity of the venue.
The Davis Cup is an unofficial world team tennis championship for men.
The Bulgarian team comprises Dimitar Kuzmanov, Alexandar Lazarov, Petr Nesterov, Alexander Donski and Yanaki Milev. Their captain is Valentin Dimov. Bosnia and Herzegovina will be represented by Damir Dzumhur, Nerman Fatic, Andrej Nedic, Mirza Basic and Tomislav Brkic, led by captain Zoran Zrnic.
If Bulgaria wins, it will remain in Davis Cup World Group I, and if it loses, it will be relegated to World Group II.
In February 2023 Bulgaria qualified for World Group I for the first time since the format changes of the competition, after winning against New Zealand in a qualifier. The last time the Bulgarian national team was part of the second tier of Davis Cup was in 1988 when it was called Group I.
In September 2023 Bulgaria lost 1-3 to Kazakhstan.
