Daniel Koynov won a gold medal for Bulgaria at the 30th edition of the Balkan Olympiad in Informatics, held in Maribor, Slovenia, the head of the Shumen school of mathematics and informatics "AIB", Biserka Yovcheva, told BTA on Friday. Koychev is a pupil of the school.
Boris Mihov from Sofia also won a gold medal and Veselin Markovic from Varna - a silver medal.
The Bulgarian team competed at the Balkan Informatics Olympiad against 51 official participants from 13 countries and ranked second in the unofficial team medal ranking, behind Romania. At the previous competition edition held in Romania, Bulgaria's four national competitors won gold medals and first place in the team ranking, Yovcheva added.
